I'm a digital illustrator and flash animator. My influences are very eclectic. I grew up reading a Marvel and DC comics. And, my best friend introduced me to Epic Illustrated and Heavy Metal magazines when we were kids. Heavy Metal was chock full of some of the best in European cartoonists and illustrators like Moebius, Enke Bilal, Caza, Daniel Torress, and a hand full of others. There were American artists such as Bernie Wrightson, Richard Corben whose 'Den' graphic story was featured in the animated movie Heavy Metal. And how could I forget Vaugh Bode who created Cheech Wizard. And, his son Mark Bode whose work on Cobalt 60. These influences have not only shaped my cartooning but, how I write and imagine my story lines to this very day. Of course there are more artists and writers than these few I've mentioned but, they are only the tip of the iceberg. Back in the 90s, I met Haruhiko 'Hal' Mikimoto; the character designer of the anime 'Super Dimensional Fortress Macross.' And, Kennichi Sonoda is another Japanese character designer I've had the pleasure of meeting. He was responsible for creating the designs for Bubblegum Crisis. The original series back in the eighties. A cyberpunk near future OVA (Original Video Animation) where mega conglomerates rule the earth. And, one such mega conglomerate is Genom which designs, manufactures and, sells to warring, third world countries bio-technological weapons known as Boomers. Yeah, that's the kinda stuff I grew up on. Anyhoo, I'll post some kick butt art soon. Ciao. :)
